3D SYMPOSIUM 2019 Digital Imaging in Modern Day Dentistry

COURSE OUTLINE


This seminar will be highly beneficial and informative for the clinicians who want to learn about various Dental Imaging, Digital Workflow and even for those who are already familiar, but would like to further expand their knowledge towards the most up-to-date technologies, diagnostic and treatment planning skills currently discussed in today’s dentistry.

Dr. Jon Julian

8:00AM – 12:00PM

Learning to work with Cone Beam technology to educate and interact

with patients


Jon M. Julian received his DDS degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Dental School in 1978 after doing his undergraduate work at the University of Kansas. Dr. Julian was the original Implant Instructor and charter member of the Dr. Dick Barnes Group. He lectures extensively throughout the United States and Europe on dental implants and the use of lasers and new technology in dentistry, and is currently the Dental Director at The Dental Future Center in Philadelphia. He is a visionary in the implementation of technology into the General Dentistry practice setting such as digital scanning, cone beam, and Platelet Rich Fibrin procedures. He has mentored many doctors down the path of growing their practice through improving communication skills and the addition of technology and new procedures.



Dr. Perry Jones

Digital Dentistry : The Future is now!

Dr. Perry E. Jones is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry, where he is an Adjunct Faculty, Associate Professor in the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department as well as an Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry. Dr Jones developed the curriculum for the VCU D2 Thermoplastics course, the first University in the world to use 3D printed models for a hands-on Thermoplastics University course. Dr. Jones has been a member of Align’s speaker TEAM since 2002, presenting some 350+ Invisalign certifications. He has published some 50+ articles in publications. His passion for orthodontics extended to co-founding the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA) where he serves as Director of Continuing Education. He is the clinical director and co-founder of Eyes-on-DDS, a consultation service offering remote camera access to mentor Drs on-site with dental procedures such as implants. He was recently honored as a fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. Dr Jones maintains a private dental practice in the Bon Air area of Richmond, Virginia.



Workshop Outline

This Saturday PM session will be a fast paced exploration of two significant technologies that can benefit the General Practice. The first session will cover why intraoral digital scanning is the “gateway” to digital dentistry. The presentation will explore how digital scanning works, system differences and its many benefits. The second session will feature a look at 3D printing, what it is, how it works, why it may benefit a GP practice. Each session will have an introduction followed by a hands-on demonstration.

Dr. Joseph Lau obtained his DDS degree at Emory University School of Dentistry in 1984. And he has completed numerous training programs such as Dr. John Schoeffel’s Endodontics training courses, Dr. Marvin Goldstein’s lectureship at College of Georgia, USDI Orthodontics courses, University of Pittsburgh Orthodontics courses, Dr. Jack Turbyfill in Prosthodontics, Medical College of Georgia Maxi implant courses, Gnathos Orthodontics training by Dr. Gerry Samson, Tatum Surgical Implant Dentistry courses by Dr. Hilt Tatum, Dr. Eric Lowenhaupt Orthodontics courses,LANAP by Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, Advanced Dental Implant Institute by Dr. Hilt Tatum and Dr. Petroza University of Puerto Rico and Guatemala Volunteer Dentistry with Dr. Steve Hewitt and 12 dental students from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Lau was selected by Dr. Hilt Tatum as a member of the Tatum Mentoring Group in 2012.



Dr. Setareh Lavasani

Applications of CBCT for Dental Implants


Dr. Lavasani is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Radiologist. She is a full time Assistant professor and the director of Oral Radiology & Advanced Imaging at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine in Pomona, California. She received her specialty certificate in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology and her master’s in dental Diagnostic Sciences from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Lavasani is the co-author of multiple text book chapters including the first interactive/digital Oral Radiology textbook; Fundamentals of Oral Radiology. She an associate editor for the Journal of The Lebanese Dental Association. She has presented at multiple national and International scientific meetings and is a frequent presenter at the California Dental Association (CDA), UCLA School of Dentistry AEGD program and local study clubs. She is an active member of multiple standing committees at the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology and Tri-County dental society.
