COURSE OUTLINE
This course is designed to give each participant a general understanding of workflows on guided implant surgeries and designing restorations.
The participant will be able to see how an implant surgical guided can be fabricated from obtaining images from CBCT to designing and manufacturing. Also after completion of the course the participant would understand the scope of digital restorative dentistry..
COURSE OBJECTIVES
• Obtain DICOM files from CBCT
• Workflows to fabricate implant surgical guides
• Learn fundamentals of Intra-oral scanning • Be familiar with the scope of digital restorations
• Understand basic knowledge of 3D printing
• Understand basic knowledge of chairside CAD/CAM
SPEAKER
Dr. Kevin Kim received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California San Diego. He served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman for 5 years before he enrolled in and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree of Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Kim is very passionate about dentistry, especially in implant dentistry. He has taken numerous seminars and continuing education courses in Implant Dentistry including the Misch International Implant Institute Implant Course, Advanced Bone Grafting at the Pikos Institute, the use of Block Allograft at The Zimmer Institute, and advanced surgical and restorative courses at GDIA. He is certified to provide Moderate IV Sedation.
Dr. Kim has been using CEREC since 2006 and he has vast experiences in 3D imaging, intraoral scanning, CAD software for implant surgical guides and various restorations, and 3D printing. He has spoken at different meetings about implant surgeries, auto-tooth bone grafting and guided implant surgeries.
