    Varo Boyer, DDS, MICOI

    Program Director

     

    Dr. Boyer is a dentist, clinician, professor, researcher, and author. He graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2008 and completed two hospital-based GPR programs at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the VA Healthcare System, receiving advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, complex treatment planning, and dental implant placement and restoration.
    Since 2010, Dr. Boyer has been in private practice in Los Angeles, CA, and joined the UCLA School of Dentistry faculty in 2011, teaching dental students and AEGD residents. From 2018–2020, he trained at the UCLA Dental Implant Continuum, focusing on evidence-based protocols and advanced implant technologies.

     

    In 2020, he became one of four investigators in a five-year global ceramic implant study with the IAOCI and Zirconia Implant Research Group. He serves as a Board Member of the International Academy of Oral Ceramic Implantology (since 2022) and, in 2024, earned the title of Master from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

  • Course Overview

    The dental world has been revolutionized by the advances in 3D printing. With patients wanting quicker turn-around time, and dentists wanting to have more control over the final restorations, 3D printers will soon be present in every dental office and improve the workflows. This course will discuss the modern 3D printing applications, same day fabrication of indirect restorations such as veneers, crowns and inlay/onlays and give the participant all the necessary knowledge to start their 3D printing journey.

     

    Fabrication of surgical guides will also be discussed, as well as retainers and occlusal guards. A hands-on portion will demonstrate the SprintRay MIDAS revolutionary digital press that allows for the printing of restorations in 8-11 minutes chariside.
