This comprehensive one-day hands-on course will cover both the science and clinical application of PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) and the latest protocol, CGF (Concentrated Growth Factors ) in clinical practice. Both PRF and CGF involve the slow release of growth factors which aid in acceleration of healing of both soft and hard tissue.

 

The benefits of utilizing patient’s own blood to obtain PRF and CGF in order to enhance success in implant, bone and soft tissue grafting procedures will be discussed. Participants willlearn the full spectrum of clinical application of PRF and CGF in dentistry including, socket preservation, lateral ridge augmentation, sinus lift and periodontal plastic surgery. Participants will receive hands-on training on simplified venipuncture technique andfabrication of PRF and CGF for clinical application.

    Dr. David Ahn

    Board certified periodontist and implant Specialist, Lecturer at UCLA Dental School, Lecturer at WLA VA Hospital, Faculty at AIC

     

    Dr. David Ahn is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a BS in Biochemistry. He worked at the renowned David Watkin’s AIDS Vaccine Lab and during his time as a research specialist he was published in multiple manuscripts for the Journal of Virology. After a year in AIDS research, Dr. Ahn attended Tufts University- School of Dental Medicine Boston and graduated in 2013.  With his passion for excellence, Dr. Ahn completed a 2-year General Practice Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital as chief resident and was awarded resident of the year. During his training at Yale, having acquired clinical skills and experiencing countless varieties of dental cases, his passion to encompass all aspects of dental health led him to pursue a specialty in periodontics at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System where he graduated as co-chief resident.
